Lancashire VCFS Consortium Meeting

Capacitybuilders and other stakeholders would like to meet with the Lancashire VCFS Consortium on the 22nd of August 2008. 

The venue and timings are still being worked up, but will likely be Preston and from 10.30 thru 15.30.  Although it is expected that the full members meeting will take place between 13.30-15.30. 

Catherine Johnstone (the Acting Chief Executive from Capacitybuilders) will be present as will the improvement support consultancy lead - Geoff Birch. 

It was expressed by members present at the meeting on the 12th for an input into the agenda, so please respond to my as soon as realistically possible with potential agenda items and I will collate and attempt to make a reasonable agenda for us to work to. As it currently stands the provisional timetable is as follows: 

1030-1130 Stakeholder meeting – Likely: GONW, Capacitybuilders, Lancashire County Council and Viveza (external consultancy) 

1145-1230 Stakeholders and Chair/Vice-chair plus working/thematic group leads

1330-1530 All members meeting (plus the above) 

Conference 2008 Changes & Challenges in Advocacy

The introduction of the Mental Capacity Act and the amendments to the Mental Health Act along with the introduction of advocacy qualifications and standards have created many changes and challenges in the advocacy arena. The need to find new ways of working of improving access for all communities and to share learning, are the key themes of this conference.
